Did you know the late Jack LaLanne was a chiropractor?

I vaguely remember Jack LaLanne.  My mother and her generation was more familiar with him.  He was always the standard for fitness at any age, as far as a whole generation who grew up post- World War II was concerned.

This was fitness without steroids, fitness from perseverance and proper food choices.

As far as I am concerned, we should all strive to be our own “Jack LaLanne”!

Remembering Jack LaLanne

In a time when smoking was still considered “manly,” and the term “working out” did not exist, health and wellness pioneer Jack LaLanne was prying people up off the couch and encouraging them to eat their vegetables.

However, what many do not realize is that before he donned his first trademark jumpsuit, LaLanne was a graduate of Oakland Chiropractic College in San Francisco. While he did not go into practice as a chiropractic physician, clearly his chiropractic education paved the way for his life’s work in the area of promoting health and wellness.

LaLanne passed away on Sunday, Jan. 23, 2011 at the age of 96.
