For Women: Smoking = Peripheral Artery Disease

Peripheral artery disease (PAD) narrows the arteries and reduces blood flow to your limbs. Among the other reasons not to start smoking, here’s one more. Smoking cessation substantially reduces risk for PAD, but an increased occurrence of PAD persists even among former smokers who maintain abstinence.”
