Potassium Citrate Increases Bone Density
A study of seniors showed that taking 60 mEq of potassium citrate daily (along with calcium and vitamin D) potassium citrate) helped increase bone density. Researchers found that “among a group of healthy elderly persons without osteoporosis, treatment with K-citrate (potassium citrate) for 24 months resulted in a significant increase in aBMD (areal Bone Mineral Density) and volumetric BMD at several sites tested, while also improving bone microarchitecture.”
Ask your doctor of chiropractic if you and your senior friends are getting enough potassium and other minerals to protect against the effects of aging.
