Green Leafy Veggies Reduce Diabetes Risk
Mom always said it was important to eat our veggies. Perhaps she should have been a bit more specific. “Increasing daily intake of green leafy vegetables could significantly reduce the risk of type 2 diabetes,” according to this study. “Estimates showed that greater intake of green leafy vegetables was associated with a 14% reduction in risk of type 2 diabetes.” Interestingly enough, there were “no significant benefits” for reducing diabetes in the increased consumption of vegetables, fruit, or fruit and vegetables combined.
