Large Waist Circumference Increases Risk of Death in Older Adults

While Body Mass Index (BMI) can be harder to calculate, waist circumference is easy. This study examined to see if there is a correlation between waist circumference (WC) and the risk of mortality (death). The study found that a larger waist circumference is “a risk factor for mortality in older adults, regardless of BMI.”
