All NSAIDs Have Cardiovascular Risks
When using non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (known as NSAIDs) be cautious. NSAIDs include common over-the-counter drugs: aspirin, Ibuprofen, naproxen, etc. A recent study showed that there was almost no evidence that any of these “drugs are safe in cardiovascular terms.” What researchers found is that “rofecoxib was associated with the highest risk of myocardial infarction, followed by lumiracoxib. Ibuprofen was associated with the highest risk of stroke, followed by diclofenac. Etoricoxib and diclofenac were associated with the highest risk of cardiovascular death.”
