Parents of young children (under 5 years old) need to remember their own health needs as well as the health of their child. New research has found that “mothers reported greater consumption of sugar-sweetened beverages, total energy (calories), and percent saturated fat compared with women without children. Both mothers and fathers had lower amounts of physical activity compared with nonparents. Mothers had higher mean BMIs (Body Mass Index) than women without children.”
