Hey MAGAts: Your President is the Swamp!

Do you remember that expression your President used during his campaign – DRAIN THE SWAMP he would yell, as if he knew anything about doing that action. This ‘Drain the swamp’ that he referred to  is a phrase which has frequently been used by politicians since the 1980s and in the U.S. often refers to reducing the influence of special interests and lobbyists.

(Not such a) BIG SECRET: he is the swamp and he tends to his swamp very well.  He is the ‘special interests’ that he said he was going to go after: his only concern, his daily work, is the create deals to benefit his own income and his family’s income.  He has nothing noting to help anybody, but especially his MAGAts; he has done even less for you.

This is like that horror movie trope :’the calls are coming from inside the house!’ – your President is the one doing all the crime and malfeasance that he said he would eliminate in Washington, DC.  The joke is both on you that he lied and, to be clear, you are the joke since you assured that he would get elected.  Please continue to support him in his efforts to end your jobs, raise your taxes, restrict your benefits, and destroy your air, land, and water (he eliminated any restrictions on polluters).

It’s also what the MAGA movement was supposed to be rebelling against. Many people who flocked to Trump in all his spite and willful destructiveness were protesting the condescension and derision of the Democratic elite, who, they felt, held them in contempt (e.g. ‘The Swamp”).

But Trump, his aides and many of his supporters haven’t purged contempt from our politics. They’ve mainstreamed it. Purified it. Industrialized it.  He considered all of you good enough to vote for him but not good enough, wealthy enough, or intelligent enough for him to do anything for you – solely because other than voting, you can’t do anything for him like his wealthy friends and the leaders of wealthy countries.

You should start to understand that he doesn’t care what he does to you: he won’t live long enough to see the destruction of this country that he has ruined.  He doesn’t care that your children get illnesses that were preventable with vaccines (his kids and grandkids are vaccinated – its just that he just doesn’t want your kids and grandkids to be vaccinated).  All that talk about how vaccines cause autism – all his kids are vaccinated and, as far as we know, none are on the autism spectrum.

That Department of Homeland Security budget exceeds that of most other countries’ whole military budget! The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) budget is massive, often exceeding $100 billion, with specific agencies like Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) reaching budgets higher than the entire military expenditures of most nations. Recent funding, including proposed increases, puts specific DHS components in the top 20 for global military-style spending.  


That is not our military budget; that is the amount that one government agency has been allotted to go after people who work here and mind their own business, people doing the jobs that many in the US don’t want to do: pick crops, work in meat manufacturing, and landscaping (to name a few).


Do you want to know the root cause of those deaths in Minneapolis, MN?  When you have dozens of officers looking for a few people and they must show results in some way to earn their bonuses and the respect of their superiors, people will die since these same bored, undereducated men and women are also armed with guns.  Not a single death in all of the DHS raids came from an undocumented person producing a gun – all of the deaths were due to an anxious group of DHS officers pulling their guns and firing when there was no clear danger present.  We can already speculate that all of them will be acquitted for the deaths that they caused since your President is very eager to acquit or pardon anyone who does his bidding or can be used by him in the future (rich friends, for example).

Stephen Miller (American’s favorite caricature of a penis-shaped Nazi) who is employed as the UNITED STATES HOMELAND SECURITY ADVISOR (whatever that title means – it sounds like the job you give your tween child when he asks for an allowance) – stated he wants “3,000 arrests a day”.  

Take a moment and contemplate all that money and manpower going towards a goal with two things that are notable: (1) this benefits no one in any way, and (2) it takes money away from something worthwhile that cold benefit the American people.

So what do we expect will happen to an agency that goes after the poorly-paid population of workers as well as the ever-present push to go after all Muslims, despite the very small number of actual events that trigger that response.

When all Muslims are considered a terrorist then all Muslims become terrorists in the eyes of DHS.  Soon, they start to push back from that image and we become a nation of paranoid and untrusting citizens.

Take a moment and tell me or yourself or someone nearby you what is the goal of this program and what will its impact be?  Will we all live better?  Will our food and water be safer (wait, right!  You president did away with all those safeguards), will be all get more money in our pockets (no), will we be safer (immigrants do not commit the majority of crimes in the United States, those are done by your friends and neighbors), will your food bills go down (not if the farmers and meat producers have a labor shortage) – you can see where this is going so you can fill in the rest of this thought process.

So this ‘swamp’ that your President wants to drain seems to my eyes to be just his way of committing retribution against Universities that did not accept him as a student many years ago, science that he doesn’t understand, the FBI that (rightfully) investigated him, the Justice Department that investigated him, people who worked at both of these places and investigated him – his personal misery tour for the remaining three years of his reign as President.  

Note: I didn’t call it his ‘presidency’ since he is more Caligula than statesman in his running this country.  He has done almost nothing to benefit the American people while, simultaneously, saying rude things about all the other world leaders.

Do you really like his foul-mouthed spokespeople like Pam Bondi, Stephen Miller, and Karoline Leavitt?  Are you allowed to be so rude in your job? the defining trait of the second Trump administration, a bearing and a bullying that cast a noxious haze over all public discourse, which was already plenty polluted. This crew — Bondi, Stephen Miller, JD Vance, your President himself – just rude and clownish bullies with complete control of the government, saying all the insults without regard to possible punishments.  They behave with all the self-assurance of the children of the owner of the business or the children of the headmaster with a message as plain to see as those same children: I can do whatever I want because my daddy owns you.
We have Pam Bondi who went before Congress last week and disgraced herself as a representative of the American people. 

Bondi came into that hearing last week as a joke, a disgrace, the titular head of a Justice Department that had seen its politically motivated prosecutions of James Comey and Letitia James dismissed by a federal judge, its requested indictment of six Democratic lawmakers rejected by a federal grand jury, its handling of the Jeffrey Epstein files exposed as a travesty. What she should have been feeling and projecting was humiliation.

She opted for contempt. It’s the Trumpian/MAGAt way. But is it the American one? Has the country sunk quite this far? I don’t think so. She and her fellow insulters and fearmongers aren’t ‘owning the libs’; they’re owning the MAGAts who they hold in contempt.


That behavior means that they do not fear retribution because your President wants them to be his distraction so that he can do and say whatever he wants.

When your President is out of power every one of those clowns will write a book and deny culpability; each will proclaim how they were the only force stopping your President from doing worse.  Each will proclaim how they never liked your President and they were only acting the way we saw because… (fill in the blank for these loathsome people seeking sympathy).
