Chiropractic services lower costs at on-site health centers

I read a very interesting study from the Journal of Occupational and Environmental Medicine which found that chiropractic services offered at on-site health centers may promote lower the use of of certain health care services, while improving function in the patient’s muscle and skeletal system.

It reminds us that there is a wonderful opportunity in the occupational health side of our chiropractic.  It simply makes sense that if chiropractors can reduce costs within the commercial insurance world we can certainly reduce costs in the workers injury arena, as well.

In addition, we have observed not only a reduction of costs but also a decrease of the hazard ratio (second loss of work from an injury) and decreased use of expensive diagnostic tests and prescription pharmaceuticals.

More businesses, especially those that employ manual labor jobs (such as manufacturing) would gain a great deal by employing a chiropractor, if not daily, at least a few days a week.
