Endometriosis Is Affected by What You Eat
Endometriosis is a painful gynecological condition that affects 5%-10% of women, particularly during child-bearing years. Severe cases can result in lesions or cysts in the pelvic area usually treated with surgery. Studies have shown that the risk of endometriosis is impacted by what a woman eats.
Women who have higher intakes of fresh fruit and vegetables can greatly reduce their risk of endometriosis. The risk increases with the consumption of greater amounts of trans fats (48% increased risk), ham (80% increase) and red meat (100% increase).
