NSAIDs = Risk of Atrial Fibrillation

Atrial fibrillation is a heart condition where the heart beats quickly and irregularly. It can increase the risk of stroke or heart failure. A new study has found that nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) like aspirin, ibuprofen, naproxen, and other over the counter pain relievers increase the risk of atrial fibrillation by approximately 17%. Other potential side effects associated with NSAIDs are hearing loss, erectile dysfunction, cardiovascular risks and even death.
