Smoking and Bladder Issues in Women

Smoking and Bladder Issues in Women

There are many reasons not to smoke. And if you look carefully at the scientific literature, you will notice that the list is growing.
Among the more recent additions is a study that looked at the relationship between smoking and bladder control in women. The study concluded that “urgency and frequency are approximately three times more common among current than never smokers.” That means that women who smoke need to urinate more often and when they do it is a more urgent event.
While this issue is probably not enough to cause someone to stop smoking, it should be understood that this is just a small part of the body’s reaction to smoking. The additional damage caused by smoking is much more severe.
